From all of us here at The Habbit Factory we would like to welcome you to our inclusive theatre company.
We aim to create a safe and welcoming environment where members feel able to explore creativity and express themselves through theatre, and in doing so build confidence, self-discipline, and social interaction.
Our weekly afterschool termly workshops are open to individuals aged 3 and above. Together, we collaborate to create performances that reflect the unique voices of our members. While there is no mandatory membership fee, we kindly suggest a donation of £15 per month, if it is within the means of the child or young person's family.
To ensure the safety and well-being of our members, we have certain guidelines and procedures in place. Please take note of the following:
Access during Workshops: Non-members, parents, carers, guardians, and siblings are not permitted access to our workshops due to safeguarding restrictions.
Application Requirement: All parents/carers/guardians of members must complete an application form before their participation in any session. This is a mandatory requirement that must be filled out completely.
Required Items and Etiquette: All members must bring and adhere to the following:
• Medication (if required)
• Punctuality (Arrive 5 minutes before each workshop for registration)
• Water or a soft drink (no alcohol)
• Suitable clothing (Fully covering all black, non-designer attire;
• school uniform is acceptable if necessary. Participants wearing inappropriate clothing will not be allowed to participate)
Communication and Notifications: We will communicate important information to our members through various channels, including email, written copies, text messages, social media, and in-person communication.
"3 Strikes" Policy: As our workshop places are in high demand, we have implemented a fair process to accommodate as many participants as possible. We kindly request that all members notify us in advance if they are unable to attend a workshop. This can be done in person, via text message, or email. Failure to report three absences in a row will result in membership termination.
Qualified and Verified Team: The Habbit Factory is proud to have a team of theatre professionals and volunteers, all of whom have undergone DBS checks before joining. We maintain a high level of professionalism, transparency, and an open-door policy. If you ever encounter any issues during your membership, please reach out to us in person, and we will address the matter promptly and with utmost confidentiality.
On certain occasions throughout the year, photographs may be taken for publishing purposes. All filming and photography will be conducted in strict adherence to Child Welfare Guidelines.
Obtaining consent from parents, guardians, carers, and/or the members themselves is a mandatory requirement at The Habbit Factory prior to capturing any photos or filming. If you are comfortable granting such consent, please indicate your preference by selecting 'yes' on the application form.
To ensure the safety and well-being of all our members, we kindly request that every member complete the medical information section of our application form accurately. This is an essential step in fulfilling our responsibilities as a charitable organisation.
Once submitted via our online application form, the provided details will be securely stored and accessed solely by authorised employees. Maintaining confidentiality is of utmost importance to us.
If a child requires prescribed medication while under our supervision, it is the responsibility of the parent or carer to remain on the premises and administer the medication as needed.
