Over the six weeks holiday, The Habbit Factory ran its first ever Summer School Programme. It was open to all age groups and held at the Robert Beard centre in Hornchurch. The first week was for all junior members, while the following week was for seniors. The programme was open to new participants as well as regular members. These workshops were based around the fundamentals of acting, ranging from facial expressions and masks, all the way to physical theatre and mime. During a 5 hour day, the participants implemented the techniques they had learned, which resulted in a self-written performance. The junior group focused on the theme of fairy-tales, whereas the seniors created their very own murder mysteries. These were then performed in front of an audience at the end of the week, showcasing the children’s work to friends and family.
